＜What is a "tonkatsu" bowl?＞
A "tonkatsu" bowl is a Japanese dish with a handle (ears) used as a small bowl for serving ingredients in hot pot dishes or as a container for tempura dipping sauce. It was originally a tool for scooping water from a water jar, and its current shape with a handle is a remnant of that. Besides hot pot dishes, it can also be used for various purposes such as a small bowl for simmered dishes and pickles, or as a salad bowl.
