＜Formed by slip casting＞

Although it has a simple shape, it is actually quite labor-intensive to produce. Conventional molds require a draft angle to allow the product to be removed from the mold. This product involves an additional step: pouring clay into the outer mold, allowing it to solidify slightly, and then discarding the excess clay.

*What is slip casting?
Slip casting (drain casting) has long been used as one of the forming methods for ceramic production.
When slip is poured into a plaster sectional mold, the plaster absorbs water, and the outer slip hardens.
Once the dried slip reaches the desired thickness, the mold is inverted to discard excess slip, and then the sectional mold is removed, resulting in the desired shape.
One characteristic of slip casting is that each piece will have slight variations in shape.
This is a valuable product, as the number of factories that perform the labor-intensive slip casting method is decreasing.
