■ This is a ceramic toothpick holder made with the yakishime firing technique.
Its deep, subdued color and stately appearance will complement any dining table.

・It can be used in combination with other items from the same series, such as the soy sauce cruet and mustard pot.

 

*Yakishime is a type of pottery fired without glaze at high temperatures of 1,000 to 1,300℃ or more for a long period. The direct expression of the clay's texture and the marks of the flame result in a hard and durable piece, and its charm lies in how it develops a deeper character (matures) with use.
